Paddington’s multiple award-winning restaurant bar, The Lark Food & Drink, certainly lives up to its name. Established in 2007 by top international bartender, Perry Scott, ( formerly of The Bowery, Lychee Lounge and London’s infamous Match Bar Group) in a converted colonial styled cottage (circa 1888), The Lark is a unique, carefree adventure of taste sensations – from the European styled food to the boutique wine list, to the famous, inventive cocktails and high-end whisky.
The Lark Food & Drink celebrated its 6th birthday in March with the launch of a new menu introduced by our internationally experienced head chef Kimba Kuhlmann. With his flair for contemporary European cuisine, His signature style is the perfect fit for The Lark’s ‘designed for sharing’ food menu to compliment a cooling cocktail or delicious glass of wine.
Alongside the exciting food menu is our constantly rotating wine/champagne & beer list and updated cocktail menu. The Lark prides itself on offering a large range of wines by the glass, that you’re not likely to find anywhere else. Each bottle is painstakingly chosen for its uniqueness, quality and boutique appeal.
Perry Scott has long been a name synonymous with cocktail creation, with a background as the head bartender for The Bowery from conception and the Lychee Lounge in West End, he perfected the art whilst working in London under the tuition of the legendary cocktail king and author of the ‘Craft of the Cocktail’ Dale Degroff of the Rainbow Rooms in New York.
Scott opened his own vision of the perfect restaurant/bar, The Lark Food & Drink in 2007. As part of the 6th birthday celebrations in March, Scott adds another few strings to his bow with a reworked cocktail list of cheeky creations. Carefully designed to please any palette from the novice drinker to the ardent bartender.

Scott’s artistic vision certainly has an eye for detail – from the art deco furnishings to the birds peaking out of hiding places, to the tiny gilt larks atop the taps in the chic bathrooms. He has more than 15 years hospitality experience and focuses on providing top quality informal service and food and drinks knowledge to make The Lark a comfy, yet stylish, home away from home. The Lark’s award-winning bartenders also have a seemingly endless knowledge of cocktails, wines and whiskeys, dolling out knowledge as fast as they doll out drinks!
With a long history mixing for rock n’ roll elite around the world - from David Bowie to Chris Martin - The Lark main bar is often propped up with Brisbane’s most famous musicians. Perry Scott has gained a reputation within the music industry as the man to see to quench a thirst. His patented ‘Strummer’ cocktail is a Splendour In The Grass backstage staple that see queues stretching outside the artist’s tent as soon as sunset falls and cocktail hour hits. Musicians from around the nation can often be seen lazing in The Lark’s old style lounges or propping up the bar in deep conversation with a talented bartender.
